Catch-up time #2!
In June, Erin's parents and brother TJ and sister-in-law Karli came to visit. We did a tremendous amount of cool things. Here are the highlights:

We had yakiniku. Yum.

We went to the fish market.

We went to a few shrines.

and saw some good things...

We had dinner at the Aomori Show Restaurant at Komaki Onsen. It was really a neat experience.

At the show restaurant.

Erin's dad took lots of photos of cool Japanese (well, this one's German) cars.

TJ and Karli posed by a waterfall in Oirase Gorge.

We went to Lake Towada.

We went to the neat quiet shrine at Lake Towada.

We saw a golden badger there.

We went to church (duh!)

Erin's dad took photos of our cool (make that pleasantly warm) toilets.

We saw a pineapple plant growing.

Karli got first-degree burns at a foot onsen!

We went to the 100Y sushi place.

We took photos of cute preschool kids.

We went to the beach in Hachinohe and played at a tidal pool.

Katelyn made some nice Japanese friends.

We played in the backyard. This is the swingset we built (before the slide was put on).

The kids had fun with Grandma and Grandpa.

Katelyn was cute.

We saw monkeys! (and not the sad, in-a-cage-on-a-cement-slab monkeys, but real life, wild monkeys!)
