Katelyn gets her very first hair cut (just the bangs).

Apple-picking with some friends from Dave's work (while Dave was working).
It isn't like in Illinois, where you eat as you go, and they weigh the rest when you get back (for a reasonable price). Apples here are prized items, and pretty expensive. Even during apple season, in apple country (where we live), you pay for a small plastic bag, in which you are allowed to put three apples. At least they were big apples.
A trip back through Oirase Gorge to Lake Towada to see the fall foliage. Fall was an extremely beautiful time of year here. The air dried out (it was unbelievably humid when we got here in late July), and it was cool and pleasant.

The kids telling knock-knock jokes.
For a long time, Katelyn would tell the same joke:
"knock-knock."
"who's there?"
"eat"
"eat who?"
"you're crying!"
It was a combination of two jokes.
Now she's learned to say "boo" ("boo who?") "you're crying!", which makes much more sense.
Mmmmm. Fast food.
It's hard to tell in the picture, but this is the biggest apple I've ever seen in my life.
